COURSE INTRODUCTION

 

The aim of this unit is to reflect the national occupational standard for controlling entry and arrangements for working in a medium risk confined space environment. This unit covers both water and non-water industry areas.

This course is for the entry controller/top person who controls entry arrangements for medium risk confined space and working within them. 

 

COURSE PRE-REQUISITES

 

Delegates attending this course should be 16+ years and be physically and mentally fit to withstand the rigorous training. For this type of training candidates must be able to understand and speak the English Language.

  • Duties of an entry controller

  • Pre-Entry procedures

  • Preparing & planning to work safely

  • Using equipment and relevant tools safely

  • Entry into & exit from the medium risk confined space

  • Maintaining communication throughout the activity

  • Initiating and following emergency action plans

 

 

COURSE BENEFITS

 

The course will provide a detailed understanding of safety requirements when assessing, planning and carrying out work in confined space environments. The course also provides assessment of entrant and entry controller responsibilities when working within confined spaces, keeping individuals and those around them safe. On completion you will achieve Level 2 qualification for entry controller/top person who controls entry arrangements for medium risk confined spaces and works within them.

 

ASSESSMENT METHOD

 

Practical observation, short answer, and question paper.
